SiswaMaiL : Officially New Email Application For UM's Student starting 1/6/2010
Dear All, Please be informed that starting from 1st June 2010 onwards, SiswaMaiL is the NEW Student's Webmail (powered by Google Apps). It is an official email application system provided to all students of University of Malaya.
Please login into SiswaMaiL (http://siswa.um.edu.my) by using your previous PerdanaMaiL userID and password.
All emails sent to students' mailing lists (STUDENT_INFO and STUDENT_IPS) will be directed to your SiswaMaiL account.
Important Notes :
• To access your SiswaMaiL via MAIL CLIENT, please use the password you've chosen when you activated the SiswaMaiL account. • The "Change password" function in SiswaMaiL is ONLY meant for SiswaMaiL usage ONLY (ie mail client , phone client , push mail etc). It will NOT effect your previous PerdanaMaiL userID and password for accessing the student's infomation systems such as UMISISWeb, UMCTES etc.
• Please email us at admin[at]perdana.um.edu.my if you have problem to log in SiswaMaiL.

Microsoft Live @ Edu
Dear student,
We are now testing Microsoft Live@edu for students(testlive.um.edu.my). This service is provided and maintained solely by Microsoft Live.To access Live@edu please follow the guidelines below :
• Go to http://home.live.com (Click here for details)
• Login using your PerdanaMaiL username PLUS the live domain. (ie. perdana_id@testlive.um.edu.my) • For first time login please use your matric number as the default password (ie ABC090007) . • To access your testlive via mail client, please use the password you choose when you activate the testlive account. • If you face problem login into your Live @ Edu account , please send us an email at admin[at]perdana.um.edu.my This application is still in BETA test mode. Please expect a few glitches as user accounts are being passed to Microsoft Live in batches.

Dear users,
There are few news about Google mail and Microsoft Online Services blocked/banned in certain countries
- Google email service suspended by certain countries < Click Here >
- Microsoft bans "embargoed" countries from Windows Live Services < Click Here >
Both findings can be searched using the popular search engine (google, yahoo, bing etc) .This also means that our student from US embargoard countries may not be able to access SISWAMAIL from their home country.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WARNING TO ALL UM STUDENTS Students are NOT ALLOWED to use UM's registered domain name or anything related to UM (ie. our logos, banner, etc.) in any advertisements or websites without the consent of UM's top management.
Students are NOT ALLOWED to use UMMail/PerdanaMail Mailing List or Groups for their personal agenda. (i.e selling multilevel products, political issues etc). Please use the "Shoutbox" instead.
